Funding Pips Rules Explained

This page explains every Funding Pips rule that can fail your account or delay a payout, in plain English and with dollar examples. Rules are based on Funding Pips’s published terms as of September 2026; firms change rules often, so check the official help centre before you trade. For our overall verdict, read the Funding Pips review.

Maximum loss 10% of starting balance, static
Minimum 3 trading days per phase

2 Step Pro

Profit target 6% per phase

Maximum loss 6%

What the main rules mean in dollars

On a $100,000 account using the main program’s numbers:

Rule Percentage In dollars
Profit target (first phase) 8% $8,000
Daily loss / daily limit 5% $5,000
Maximum loss 10% $10,000

Funding Pips uses a static maximum loss that stays fixed below your starting balance on this program. Profits you make increase your buffer, which gives you more room over time. Our trailing vs static drawdown guide has worked examples.

Other rules to know

  • Profit split depends on your reward cycle (60% weekly, 80% bi-weekly, 100% monthly, on-demand with a consistency rule); the cycle locks before your first trade.
  • Profit Concentration Policy (evaluations from June 27, 2026, $25K+): if one trade idea exceeds 60% of the target, the Master Account needs 4 profitable days before each reward.
  • Profits from trades in a 10-minute window around restricted news may be deducted on Master Accounts.
  • A temporary change since January 29, 2026 bans weekend holds on 2 Step Flex Master Accounts.

Banned strategies

Review the prohibited strategies in the help centre. A Striking System on some Master Accounts issues warnings that never reset: the second halves your split and the fourth closes the account.

Recent rule changes

Funding Pips changed a lot in mid-2026: the 10% Phase 1 option on the 2 Step Standard was withdrawn in July, a Profit Concentration Policy applies to evaluations created from June 27, 2026, and weekend holds on 2 Step Flex Master Accounts have been paused since January 29, 2026.

Evaluation vs funded account

Don’t assume the rules stay the same once you’re funded. Check these funded-account conditions at Funding Pips, and re-read the funded section of the terms the day you pass:

Payout schedule Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or on demand
Payout speed and methods Processed Tuesdays; often within hours
Consistency On on-demand payouts and some funded accounts
Profit split 60% weekly, 80% bi-weekly, 100% monthly

Funding Pips rules for South African traders

Yes. Funding Pips accepts South African traders; confirm eligibility at checkout. Know your daily loss reset time in SAST: firms that reset at 5 PM New York time reset at 23:00 or 00:00 SAST. Fees and payouts are in foreign currency, and payouts are income for SARS.

How traders most often break Funding Pips’s rules

  • Picking the weekly reward cycle in a hurry and locking in a 60% split.
  • Passing with one big trade and triggering the Profit Concentration Policy.
  • Trading restricted news on a Master Account.

For a practical plan to avoid these, read how to pass the Funding Pips challenge.
