This page explains every SabioTrade rule that can fail your account or delay a payout, in plain English and with dollar examples. Rules are based on SabioTrade’s published terms as of September 2026; firms change rules often, so check the official help centre before you trade. SabioTrade rules at a glance
One-step evaluation
| Profit target | 10% (closed trades only) |
|---|---|
| Daily loss | 5% of previous day’s end-of-day balance, includes floating losses |
| Maximum drawdown | 6% of starting balance, trailing from highest balance |
| Consistency | 55% per day and per trade; target rises if exceeded |
| Time limit | None; at least one trade every 30 days |
| Leverage | 1:30 forex, 1:3 crypto |
What the main rules mean in dollars
On a $100,000 account using the main program’s numbers:
| Rule | Percentage | In dollars |
|---|---|---|
| Profit target (first phase) | 10% | $10,000 |
| Daily loss / daily limit | 5% | $5,000 |
| Maximum loss | 6% | $6,000 |
SabioTrade uses a trailing drawdown that rises with your highest balance on this program. Because it trails, a winning run followed by a normal pullback can breach the account even while you’re above your starting balance. Our trailing vs static drawdown guide has worked examples.
Other rules to know
- After your first payout, equity can’t fall below your starting balance.
- Rewards can be requested every 7 days with no open trades and consistency rules met.
- On plans without weekend holding, positions must be closed by Friday at 3:45 PM EST.
Banned strategies
High-frequency trading, EAs, bots, APIs and trade copiers, scalping, mirror trading, hedging (including across accounts) and ‘all-in’ trades using excessive margin.
Recent rule changes
Older reviews describe EAs and scalping as allowed; SabioTrade’s current FAQ bans both, along with hedging and trade copiers. Always use the current FAQ, not third-party summaries.
Evaluation vs funded account
Don’t assume the rules stay the same once you’re funded. Check these funded-account conditions at SabioTrade, and re-read the funded section of the terms the day you pass:
| Payout schedule | Every 7 days |
|---|---|
| Payout speed and methods | Bank transfer or crypto |
| Consistency | 55% per day and per trade |
| Profit split | 80% ($20Kâ$50K) or 90% ($100K+) |
SabioTrade rules for South African traders
Yes, through SabioTrade’s international site; its US site is for US residents only. You’ll need photo ID and a proof of address dated within the last six months. Know your daily loss reset time in SAST: firms that reset at 5 PM New York time reset at 23:00 or 00:00 SAST. Fees and payouts are in foreign currency, and payouts are income for SARS.
How traders most often break SabioTrade’s rules
- Giving back open profit and hitting the trailing floor.
- One oversized winning day pushing the target up under the 55% rule.
- Holding over the weekend on a plan that doesn’t allow it.
For a practical plan to avoid these, read how to pass the SabioTrade challenge.
